Performance: (M)OTHERS at OKO
To celebrate Mother’s Day, we invite you to the performance “(M)OTHERS”, which explores an expanded concept of motherhood – one that includes not only biological but also social and territorial relationships. It is an attempt to delve into the universal role of “MOTHER” – something each of us carries within, regardless of gender, age, sexual identity, skin color, ability, or education level: silence, city, game, community, senses, chameleon, dragon, queer, stranger, other. The concept of the performance creates space for reflection on empathy, social expectations, and love despite differences. The piece is a collage of images, memories, choreography, words, musical postcards, and dreams.
The production was co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund, as part of the “Dance” program run by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

II. „Becoming Taiga” / Agnieszka Gąsiorek – 6’36’’ – film
Concept & cinematography: Agnieszka Gąsiorek
Partner: New Visions
“Becoming Taiga” is a poetic documentary capturing the gathering of members from a transformative learning/unlearning community space called TAIGA and FJORDS, created by new visions (Berlin). The program was designed as a safer and braver space for people with life experience as women, who combine artistic and activist work – mostly in Eastern Europe or as migrants across Europe. It is warmth and sensation, community and care, slowness and love, earthiness and radicality. The first meeting took place in August 2022 at Massia*ru in Estonia. The film blends documentary images with the participants’ poetry, singing, needs, images of nature, movement, intimacy, and strength that emerged during those days in the Estonian forest.
Agnieszka Gąsiorek is a filmmaker, anthropologist, and activist. She graduated from a film school in Denmark (2017) and earned her degree in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in Wrocław (2023). She is engaged in numerous social and activist initiatives. In her spare time, she explores dance, movement, and gardening. In film, she is especially interested in movement – not only as a visual element but as a medium for expressing what cannot be said in words. She has made several short films screened at festivals worldwide. Her film “Grandma Dorota” won five awards across various categories, and she received a Best Director award for her short fiction “Thoughts of Love.” She is currently developing various short film formats and writing her first feature-length script.
